There is no need to use a workaround to access the internet/eshop and you no longer need cryptofixed CIA's.

Man, you forgot about the ability to save home menu arrangements, feature introduced in 9.6. This is totally a game changer.

For those who didn't get it, this is sarcasm. I'm sure no one cares about home menu arrangements. And since it's the only feature that got introduced since 9.3 (apart from the extra stable New 3DS, and I'm not only talking about the extra stable 3D!), then the reasons to update are only what @KobraXMW said (and it's especially stupid to have to use a cryptofixed cia to play a game that requires 9.9 and that you own in cartridge format).

It's patched in ram, so whatever cfw you're running will show it's name. (i don't think cakes patches the vers string though)

Your gw will not work anymore if you update to 10.3 emunand.

There is many instance, original <9.3 N3DS keeps getting black screen, so don't get discouraged. Can you boot rxTools?

I can get the menu to show, but when I try to boot rxmode, I just get black screens.
I'm currently recreating my emunand with EmuNAND9 (It was originally through GW menu).

hi works great, i tested update, eshop all works great,
just many black screen when it s boot on reinand, possible need modificatiion
on boot.cfg ctrbootmanager

You can run all games on 9.5, but some require "cryptofixing". With emunand 10.3, you can download stuff from the eShop and not need cryptofixing anymore (and also pirate 9.6+ games that don't need to be cryptofixed, if that's your fancy). One other huge perk is not needing HANS to enter the eShop.

Sorry went to bed. You seems to be Okay. Just persistent with booting with rxTools first, when in the black screen, leave it for 2 minutes before attempt to reboot. Then keep try agai. One of 2 the downgraded N3DS I know takes like 10 boot until successful first boot. Make sure you get the right firmware.bin These get updated/oudated quick.
