Because he answered someone who asked if they can go back to rxTools after upgrading via Reinand, to which the answer is no right now, since rx doesn't support 9.6+ emuNAND on N3DS yet.

so I have menuhax and ctrbootmanager setup and reinand coldboots. however, upon attempting to update it via system settings it goes through it's thing and says "updating. please wait... do not turn off the power." then after a few minutes it says 'an error has occurred. unabled to update. the system will not be restarted. and that's that. thoughts?

Another thing which should be included in the OP before updating is to remove the TubeHax DNS if you are using it. Otherwise you can't download the firmware update. This may help those who are experiencing issues similar to what @Classicgamer has. If you don't remove the DNS, then you are blocking the official Nintendo servers that you are trying to download the firmware update from.

If you don't need the extra stuff Rx offers (just use Decrypt9 and Emutool9 instead), there's nothing wrong at all with swapping to Rei.

You can't (for now? Might change when Gateway releases whatever they have, I guess). 9.2 and below only, so you have to downgrade.

I've never blocked any ip, dns or whatever. I never go online with the thing except for emunand updates. is there any potential cia that I might have installed that could block updates such as bluecardfixes.cia or flashcardtimewarps.cia?

Just use NTR or FMP and region free isn't an issue.

No but you can run NTR CFW on top of either CFW's and have a patch for that. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
