When I registered, I made a stupid mistake of typing in the wrong email address, and yes I mistyped it twice in the confirm email textbox. Actually I copied and pasted it into that second field. Yes I have a helmet and ride the short bus.
Anyway, I obviously never got the validation email, and when I was logged in, there wasn't a way for me to fix the email address.
Now, I understand that if you allow someone to log in and change the email, that someone could log into someone else's account and mess it up. But if you only allow email to change when the user is registered but not validated yet, then you are better protected.
I also sent a PM to one of the moderators.
