Hacking Region free PS2 PS1 Discs on Hacked CECHA01?

Hi,

Is this possible? I know I can load region free backups but how about discs. I have searched a fair amount but there doesn't seem to be too much discussion on it (these early models seem hard to come by)

Any advice appreciated! Thanks
