My cousin bought a 360 Elite 2 years ago and sometime this year he was playing Assasin's Creed....then the red rings of doom appeared. He bought it to be fixed. I'm so far lucky enough not to get unlucky, but is this hardware problem still unable to be solved?

It will probably never be completely fixed until they release a new version which features a completely redesign Motherboard.

They won't ever fix it. It's their weapon against pirates.

Fixing them yourself is easy...
If he wants to sell it - I'll buy it if the price is right
PM me if interested

just call microsoft and they will repair it for free.

if you want the best protection against the rrod then get the latest version with the 150w power supply.
they redesigned the cpu and gpu so they are 65nm technology, it makes almost no heat at all now.
