Recently ive been thinking of getting another ps3, because i have bought a fat instead of slim OR an xbox 360.
Id like to know where this ''Red Ring'' originates from. Burnt games, hardware problem and how you fix it.

About 1/2 of the people with an 360 bought before june this year gets an RRoD or another failure. I can tell you, it's no big deal if it happens in the first 3 years of you ownership. MS fixes you console for free, you get it back in a week.

Why do people pull statistics out of their asses?

I know about six people very well who own an xbox 360 each. Not one of them has rrod. I was under the impression that it was the older models that were more prone to it. *shrugs*

Same here.. I know multiple people with 360s (mostly Falcons, not even the newer Jasper models) who haven't had the RROD or E74 once.. me included.

AFAIK, Falcons are pretty resistant and Jaspers seem to be finally immune from the problem.

For now... Time will tell, though, since they're relatively new models [IMG]

You wont get an RRoD if you keep it in a well ventilated area. Pretty much the console heats up in which the solder between joints and such expand and then when it cools the solder shrinks and then snaps.

Cause I keep my statistics there.

    ...

No, srsly, I've gbased these numbers on things that happened om me or friends. The people who've bought an 360 after June never had a broken 360.

Have you contacted the 35+ million Xbox 360 owners and conducted a survey? I haven't received a phone call, email, or anything so I assume not. Therefore, your data is worthless.

I heard Jaspers aren't getting RRoD much at all

Have had one of my 360's for about 2 years now... never had a problem with it, just lately the power cut on it and when i turned it back on a load of green lines appeared at the bottom of the screen and there was some video corruption, i think its biting the dust, but i still haven't had any problems since.

My cousin has had a arcade, i believe its a Jasper, still going strong and never had any issues, RRoD is extremely random, it may happen all the time, and it may never happen at all. Anyways the problem comes with the cooling down, so nothing you could really do. But yet again, random.
