Recovering files from a hard drive on Ubuntu

Hi, as you may know, Windows 10 failed to update, causing my computer to not want to boot into my hard drive (Windows 10). I've started Ubuntu from a USB flash drive, and tried to mount the hard drive. Whenever I try, I get this error:

Obviously I can't do anything about shutting down Windows, as it was never open in the first place. Is there any way I could 'force' mount it? It's got some files I'd like to retrieve, but I can go without them. Keep in mind, I haven't used Linux in ages. Thanks for your time

If it's just to retrieve your files, have you tried doing as it suggested and mounting with the read-only parameter?

I have almost no experience with linux so I can't help beyond that (I would just plug the drive into another PC via USB).

Solution: Created a bootable Win10 USB stick, and fixed startup. Alternatively, run a system restore through the same stick.
