Hi, as you may know, Windows 10 failed to update, causing my computer to not want to boot into my hard drive (Windows 10). I've started Ubuntu from a USB flash drive, and tried to mount the hard drive. Whenever I try, I get this error:

Code:
Unable to access "946 GB Volume"
Error mounting /dev/sda2 at /media/ubuntu/A662BE6D62BE423B:
Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o
"uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=999,gid=999" "/dev/sda2" "/
media/ubuntu/A662BE6D62BE423B" exited with non-zero exit
status 14: The disk contains an unclean file system (0, 0).
Metadata kept in Windows cache, refused to mount.
Failed to mount '/dev/sda2': Operation not permitted
The NTFS partition is in an unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown
Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting), or mount the
volume read-only with the 'ro' mount option.

Obviously I can't do anything about shutting down Windows, as it was never open in the first place. Is there any way I could 'force' mount it? It's got some files I'd like to retrieve, but I can go without them. Keep in mind, I haven't used Linux in ages. Thanks for your time

If it's just to retrieve your files, have you tried doing as it suggested and mounting with the read-only parameter?

I have almost no experience with linux so I can't help beyond that (I would just plug the drive into another PC via USB).
