I'm not a 3DS player but my son is and I'm trying to help fix a problem.

He dropped his 3DS and damaged the top screen and the wireless. I won't get into the gory details but with a botched system transfer and trying to get his data to a new 3DS (I bought for him for Christmas) I've lost any ability to transfer the save game files to his new 3DS.

Pokemon Y was a digital copy, and I have the .sav files (actually I have a copy of all of the files). What I'm wondering is if there is any way to open them up and transfer them to him or to inject/load them into the Pokemon Y game on his new console?

He's put well over 1,000 hours on this and loves his Pokemon team and he is devistated. I'd be very grateful for any assistance. I'm open to any outside the box thinking on this.

Thank you!

Wrong section and the 3DS that is damaged can you at least see some of the screen?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also when you say .sav files were they created with a Gateway card or are you talking about the "main" file you would get from savedatafiler?

They aren't created by any homebrew it's the normal game (which came free with the 3DS due to a promotion). The top screen is 100% dead. I posted here because I thought there may be a way to open the save game files (I presume the 2 .sav files in the sd card folder are these) and get the data out - is this the wrong place for that?

can you post these ".sav" files. Where were they located on the SD card?

is the save called 0004000000055E00.sav or main? That would be a decrypted save file! You should be able to inject with svdt

AFAIK 00040000 is the folder Nintendo uses for Pokemon Y. In subfolder 00057700, 00055e00 and 00051700 there are 3 x 00000001.sav files of different sizes (512 kb, 1,024 kb, and 128 kb).

I added a (1) (2) (3) to show the respective files (as they have the same name) and are here in the .zip file.

Those are no good they are encrypted saves as a nice gesture to your Son I can give him any 6 pokemon he wants shiny with maxed out legal stats and their best movesets possible. I would buy a new screen if you can afford it as that's a very big waste maybe @hundshamer can repair it for a fee provided you pay for a replacement screen.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.
