Hacking Recording both DS Screens

So, I was wondering. I have a R4DS, and after i've seen some trailers of games, and television programs where they show in-game footage of DS Games without using a digital camera or anything, .. is there any way of recording both DS Screens with some piece of homebrew, or trick? Since I would like to know the best way for doing so.. maybe a DS Emulator that records both screens? I hope someone knows a good solution for this.

Companies who do video reviews and trailers/commercials are given a special cable from Nintendo apparently. I don't know of any Homebrew app that allows recording but I'm sure demo dumps are possible.

Actually, I think Ensata works.. But don't ask me where to get it.

Because I don't know where to get it, and I'm pretty sure it's an Illegal Emulator.

There was a topic about this a long time ago. Intelligent Systems (Yes the one's that helped make Paper Mario) made a official emulator for game company use only. They also made a device that can be used to record video off a DS screen.

Hm, .. ok. I was actually thinking about something like... a regular DS Emulator and then just fraps it or record the emulator with another program.

I remember they had E3 footage of Metroid Prime Hunters being displayed on a big monitor with DS systems below for control.

They have special modded DS games for that. I saw one during the Japanese Tetris DS tournament. It has a cable thing connected to the cartridge and it goes somewhere and ends up being displaying the top screen on a TV.

If you're referencing that old leaked/hacked 1.3 then no it will not.

The other end is just a standard Composite or S-Video connection.

I think the TV plug will eventually be out. However, about the recording thing... I'm not sure. But I HAVE seen people in youtube (regular people, mind you) using some sort of camera that captures it perfectly.

They just use a regular DV Camcorder with a Direct Sound Feed to the Camera using Stereo cables. It's a popular technique nowadays for do-it-yourself video capture for DS. There's a whole tutorial on how to get near perfect results on the speeddemosarchive wiki page.

Yeah, that would be cool... However, the graphics in most 3D games would probably be screwed up if it was stretched to fit a 40" LCD Screen TV.

Or, it'd be impossible to play Elite Beat Agents, well at least while looking at the TV screen.
