I'm looking to buy a Slot 2 card that will work well with my R4.
My only real requirement is that it can play GBA games/homebrew.
But I'd also like it to be NDSL shaped and white in color.
Have a nice looking menu (or skinnable).
    Use Micro SD as storage.
    Save directly to the card.

I'd also like to know a good slot 2 card that works with the R4 and a DS Phat, as I have a friend who also wants to play gba games/homebrew.
And don't say the EZ Flash 3 in 1 Expansion, as that can only store one game and has to be patched to work with the R4 (I think).
Im looking for something that works without lots of patching.

I have read into the EZ 3 in 1...
It doesn't hold just one ROM, it can hold as many as your Slot 1 can if you think about it. You store the GBA ROMs on your R4 and transfer them over to the EZ through a homebrew .nds loader file. Simple as that. No need to buy extra microsd's or have multiple firmwares on one.

That seems like the smarter choice to me, but I have heard the M3 Perfect is great too.

The EZ however acts more like an original cart, thus boosting the compatibility to near-perfect.

And patching? You patch the GBA ROMs, and it takes no time at all. Run it through an executable and you are good to go. You're only patching to make the saving work.

So with saving. It saves onto the 3 in 1 right? And when you swap games what happens to the saves? Do you have to manually back them up or does it copy them to the R4 automatically?
Or can the 3 in 1 hold heaps of saves?

By default when you load a new game it will automatically backup the SRAM (save), but you can also manually save it as well.

I use one with my R4, i love it and was a great price!

The non-lite version will work the same but is GBA size for the older NDS systems

the EZ is really cool, and you will have to patch your games anyway with any slot 2 card...
Actually, you don't need to patch the games if you use a loader, you will just have to load them to the NOR or PSRAM. Certain games, however will require patching in order to get the save to work when used with PSRAM (the fastest loading memory type).
Plus the EZ does rumble and ram pack.
