I'm hoping to get some suggestions for worthwhile import titles to check out, stuff that's playable for folks who don't read/speak Japanese (and/or perhaps even European exclusives that are also worth playing).

Thanks

Hard to say. I went over this list to see which games aren't released in the USA, but aside from Monster hunter G, I can't see anything I'd recognize.

This isn't to say that there aren't good games out there - the guy who voted bleach VS crusade in the essential list probably has good reason to - but that they're just not popular enough to have heard of them.

...and I guess xenoblade has too much text to make it worth it? (never even seen a video of it...but heard some good things about it)

Taiko no Tatsujin is the single greatest import game ever. It's easy to play even if you can't read Japanese, and it's a ton of fun. You may not like it if you don't like Japanese music.

The Taiko series is pretty fun in general, though I've never tried the Wii versions of the game. You could give Xenoblade a shot, I got around the game pretty well without being able to read hiragana or katakana (though I do know Kanji since I know Chinese).

I've seen it with the drum peripheral. Is it required to play the game, or can you use Wii Remotes? I would jump all over the game. Love the DS games.

You can use the classic controller, the wii remote on its side, and of course, the taiko peripheral. I play it with the classic controller and it's extremely fun.

Tales of Graces. Use the Gamefaqs spoiler-free walkthrough if you don't know what to do next, but the game is totally playable if you've played "Tales of" style RPG's before.

Great as hell

Xenoblade as well.

Not mentioned yet are:

Fullmetal Alchemist: Daughter of Dawn
Fullmetal Alchemist: Prince of Dusk
(if you are into FA);
Gundam games (such as Mobile Suit Gundam)
Radirgy Noa Wii
Bleach vs Crusaders

If I were to import, I'd get Xenoblade (beta patch .coming soon), Tales of Graces (full translation soon), Fatal Frame 4 (fully translated) and Zangeki no Reginleiv (no need to know JP to cut heads and limbs off)

Forgot to mention it's an italian translation

If you know Portuguese or Spanish (or Latin), you can understand Italian enough to play the game and understand its story/dialogues/etc..

EDIT: I just saw you're from Argentina. Then I guess you know about neolatin languages (PT, ES, FR and IT) similarities.
