Oldies ReCollect64: N64 collection tracking site + blog!

Having continually added titles to my physical N64 collection recently, I got sidetracked into building my own N64 collection tracking site.

ReCollect64 (formerly: Project Reality) is the culmination of my work which allows you to check off all the versions and variants you own for each specific game.

Every site seems to have differing numbers for total completion, so I’m sure there is work to do, but I hope mine covers everything it needs for people to begin public beta testing.

• NFR and IQUE games included
• Hilights for owned/sealed
• Over 1200 pieces of artwork
• Alpha search (just tap a letter on your keyboard)
• Back up your collection to an external file
• Import collection from backed-up file
• Nuke collection (delete it all & start fresh)

+ Added player information (for example 1-4 player), and info about special carts (Mario no Photopi and Morita Shogi 64).

+ Added a star and a green hi-light on the games you own in the list. Simply add your games and refresh the page to see your “gots” versus your “needs”.

+ Added selecting “Sealed” auto checks box/cart/manual for quicker adding.

Are you focusing only on released games? Or will you be adding romhacks too?
In case you add romhacks, you could possibly add this custom boxart I did for Ura Quest for Zelda.
Basically, a hacked version of Master Quest but with Ura dungeons, which is available through Patcher64+ Tool

Working on a major update that splits all games by region so that you can focus on individual regions or combinations.

This means I need to populate a master list with every (known) variant first, so I have a HUGE amount of work ahead of me.

I’m also aiming to rewrite a lot of the main functions to compensate for the split, and improve core functionality throughout.

I thought I had a decent amount of artwork in there, 750+ pieces, but it looks like I’m going to need a heck of a lot more… it may take some time…

One month later and the master list is complete!

1311 games including NFR carts.

Now to locate all box art…

Region splitting is working, so we can now select any region or combinations of regions at will.

I just need to split the saved titles by region and we are good to see stats per region, rather than AIO.

The search for artwork goes on, then hopefully a V2 release… maybe for Xmas ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

First, congrats for your work. The site is slick and comprehensive AF. Second, I'd like to know if there are other webs like this for different systems. I really like browsing throw cover art and I do it frecuently both online and in physical shops.

I assume other retro console enthusiasts have done similar things in the past?

Depends which console(s) you specifically want, and if it’s been done I guess.

There are some good resources out there for VG artwork, mainly cover projects and such, but the best resource has been eBay image search: an absolute goldmine for variant hunters.

Big update today adding cart art for BRAZIL (120 images)!

Cart art for JP/USA/EUR has already been added (750+ images)

I will keep adding cart art until it’s complete…
