that's probably correct. I didn't check the whole thing, but the first three characters are right. i use hashtab myself, which puts the md5 for any file under properties.

I'm trying to, yes, on both github and now psx place. test cobra 8.2 to see if ps2 games work.
yeah, that pup should be 100% correct for 4.84.2. the updater folder is for update debug, which is what I always use to update or downgrade my system. the file can be named anything, even without the pup extension, and it will install. that's how I installed 4.88 cfw actually.

I think you can even put all updates in the 01 folder, and it will work. they either all have to be in there or in separate folders from 01-20 as 20 updates is the max allowed. it's from firmware 3.50 that increased the limit from 10 to 20. update debug is part of qa flagging fyi, so just enable it, put an updater folder on the root of the internal hdd, then have 01 through whatever with your updates. and, as I mentioned, updates can be named anything (don't even need an extension).

afaik, what allows installing the same firmware is the image version. rebug uses all 9's. I don't know where all that is, but I know it's in the vsh.self at least, and it's part of the spoofing process, because the firmware is in there as well.

I updated stage2 to see if now it is working, I have attached the file
Btw, stage2 from Cobra 8.3 DOES NOT HAVE FAILSAFE, the one with failsafe is lv2_kernel.self. I have created the CFW 4.84.2 REX with Cobra 8.3 and failsafe as well, but I have passed it on to testers to test it first

the tools was not added or is it another process?
wanted to create licenses, activate PSN account, use saves on other consoles, switch between coldboot rebug with official PS3
