"ReBoot" -- one of the earliest computer-animated episodic TV series -- will be redeveloped as a trilogy of feature-length films by Rainmaker Animation.

Originally produced in 1994, the series was created by MainFrame Entertainment, which was acquired by and renamed Rainmaker in 2006. "ReBoot" aired for several seasons on ABC, YTV and Cartoon Network.

"The idea is to relaunch the brand in a new way," said Rainmaker Animation executive vp Paul Gertz, who will oversee the project.

I loved watching the show back when it was on Toonami (and even saw some of it on ABC long before that). It was one of few cartoons at the that time based on computers and video games in general (not based on a specific game).

I can't wait to see how this will turn out.
Will they use the same style of 3D? Or will they take advantage of current graphics technology to make everything more detailed?

Oh man, Reboot was awesome.

However, I don't think I'd want to see a new movie with the same models. I'd rather see them maintain their unique look, but a lot more detailed.

This has to be the MOST unexpected yet totally EPIC return of a show ever.

I enjoyed Reboot as a kid, I wasn't the biggest fan by any means, but I remember watching it on CITV with my sister after school along with the other whole 3 hour block of shows.

Good times.

They damn well better keep the original intro (theme song at least) or there will be hell to pay.

"I come from the NET, from systems, people, and cities, to this place... MAINFRAME!"

Maybe I was just too old at the time for it to be nostalgic to me, but I always though it was utter fucking shit.

I used to have action figures n stuff of this show, but to be completely honest, I can't remember if I thought the show was any good.

I think I liked the concept, and some of it reminded me of LBA

For the time it was great.
I loved that show.
When it aired on Toonami I had a chacne to actually see the story.
Personally I dont think it was all that bad.
The first season or so was mostly just random stuff, then further into it they climbed into a full on story and conflict.

The animation was prety darn good at the time, and well, its kinda fitting for a computer world anyway since you dont need realistic graphics to make something that is just gonna be basic anyway.

Also I dont remember the story ending in a cliff hanger.
I remember the "USER" doing a backup and fixing the aftermath after Megabyte trashed everything or something.

Still, story wise, Id love to see one with the "computer" being found by another "user" and revived and rebuilt.
Take the old graphics and then show them getting updated.

Also, the idea of a game being a problem among sprites was a kinda cool idea.
They always had some random action sorta thing to take care of to keep things from getting too boring.
Kinda like a cartoon show with the main charecters playing tennis every episode, but instead you have a random game every episode or two.
Plus it was the guardians job and all thems to fight the "USER" in the games and keep things fresh and what not.

I really loved the concept.

Now Im an anti-3D person myself and I love 2D artwork and games the best, but this is definitly a good show. Its no Final Fantasy, but hell, it was atleast good for the time.

Compare it with today's 3D cartoon crap and try to tell me thats somehow better written with a straight face.
Besides it was a kid show anyway.

Now try the PSX game, now that was crap Ive heard. (never botherd to try and find the iso really)

This show was quite good, pretty much how I would imagine life inside a computer to be like~

But it got AWESOME with adult Enzo. Next action hero Guardian awesome.
