I guess so? I mean, our Pokémon games use "feet" and "pounds" in the Pokédex, rather than metres and kilograms - which I always did find weird and incomprehensible.

They did in Europe as well, or at least the UK versions which is presumably what was sent there as well. This despite no kid that even played red and blue being taught imperial measurements in school (possibly at all, even as a "so you can know what your parents are talking about"), and about 2 months after they hit in Europe (even less if they got it for Christmas) it was made mandatory to use metric in measurements in general transactions/loose goods and normal way before then anyway.
Once again I fell down the martial arts rabbit hole and am plumbing the murky depths of the internet's various martial arts and fighting crafts echo chambers.
