Are we absolutely positive that the "weights.bin" files are the lip sync files?

On the xbox 360 version of RB2 there are files for RB1 songs in the song/rb1 folder.

They have .PAN files. Could these be lip syncing for RB2?

They also have the album art milo files too.

If you guys want, i'll send the enter sandman pan file so you can see if that makes a difference.

Here is the link:
entersandman.zip

I have included 3 files, entersandman.pan, and the 2 milo files.

If you are wondering why RB2 had files for Enter Sandman, I got 2 guesses:
1. They put it in before they knew Enter Sandman and the other songs were not going to be exported and rather than redoing the disc, they left it.
2. They put it in in case those 3 songs were ever licensed for use in RB2, this way, there would be no problem.

I am leaning towards number 2 only because it makes more sense in my opinion.

Nice idea, but if these pan files were placed there for when RB1 songs were imported into RB2, then what about the Track Packs, Classic Rock, etc? They can be imported to RB2 but i cant imagine the pans for these already in RB2, so how do they lip sync??
Correct me if im wrong tho, id love to be so this is figured out!!

So wait, RB2 has some RB1 files on there for export? Is there a DTA/ DTB file on there that has all the song listings (artist, title, etc)? This would be handy since I'm doing it all by hand right now

THANK YOU THANK YOU for the album art

I'll test it right now

DLC that has been released after RB2 included all files for it to run on both RB1 and RB2 in the same DLC file.

When the music is exported, a .DTA is created for each song from the songs.dtb file on the RB1 disc which is stored in a container file along with the .mid, .mogg (format used in the 360 version). In this case, you should just use the info from RB1.

I can get you the DTA files for all RB1 songs except for the 3 songs that were not exported to RB2.

If you need more album art, let me know as I also have the AC/DC Track Pack DLC that I downloaded using the code found in the AC/DC game for the xbox 360.

Now I understand that Rock Band 1 features files for synchronization of the vocalist and that they're going to be implemented into the the Rawk SD Exporter, but what of custom charts or charts from games like Guitar Hero III that wouldn't feature the files needed for synchronizing? Is the team going to be working on something to attempt a sync, or what?

Are you talking like GH3 and GHWT games in the exporter? Idk, but I think it would be cool to be included

That's pretty much up to whoever charted the custom (or in the case of GH3, whoever wants to chart the vocal sync). We're not making charts for you, we're making them possible

Though I don't know that the lip sync format is well known, so I dunno whether any of us will try reversing it.

As for actually converting GH3/GHWT format itself, that depends on what I said above, whether any of us feel like digging into the format

I know that GHWT and GHM both use the .bik format. Interestingly enough, they did not bother to encrypt it so the files can be played with the RAD Tools.

The biks do have several tracks in them that will probably have to be separated and combined so that RB can play them.

As for the charts, I believe there are tools that can convert the charts to midi format so rb can play them.

Pretty smooth. So far we've only been testing various files and not the actual installers (see what works with/without what kinda thing)

Are you extracting the files with trucha signer and then placing them on the SD (after some patching), so after that you can load them with the RB2, or what..??
