Gaming (random) Cant Get wifi to work on Ubuntu (acer aspire 5315)

ok so i got this brand new acer aspire 5315-2001 for christmas. im relativly new to linux but cluless to ubuntu. how do i get wifi to work? when i click wifi-radar it gives me this: COULD NOT LAUNCH MENU ITEM Failed to execute child process "su-to-root" (No such file or directory) what do i do? i tried installing menu but wifi-radar doesnt even boot or do anything. do i need to mess with drivers and stough. can someone help me?

i have an acer asiper with ubuntu on it and it could not recognize the wireless device. i install vista instead.
