The likes system is a horrible concept as far as I am concerned, as such the fact that the ratio can in any way be a concept/metric to be considered (and is not something ridiculous like dolphins shot with crossbow to meals eaten ratio) is itself horrible.

I think the like system is a good way to gauge popularity of a user. People with 1:1 or better are the kool kidz, or at least well known imo. Of course, there's some exceptions, but it's a pretty solid gauge for me.
