Hey twiz. When do are you and your team expecting to finish the translation project? I can't wait until it comes out. I want to play online, and want to use AR codes for faster leveling. So far I'm at MT Moljinr. Some of the AR codes don't work, like the max level and job level. The game freezes in the beginning. So I'm assuming they won't be fixed until the final patch comes out huh? Great job with the translation, keep up the good work

We're short on Translators so progress is pretty slow (as was mentioned a few times).
You can already play online. The Mirage Tower is mostly translated. There are some things that may not be able to be translated though.
Cheat codes do work, kinda, just load up your save in the Japanese ROM, use your
cheats, save the game and play the English one again.
And you are correct, since each patch changes the codes, until a final patch is made, the codes will not be fixed.

Hmm, this is the first time I heard of a Nintendo DS game being translated where the patched version's
cheats are different than the original. Normally the memory addresses are the same if you simply are patching the GUI and text and not messing with the game code at all. All in all, this could cause unforeseen problems in the future.
I'm not sure I understand the difference between " patching the GUI and text" and "messing with the game code".
I'm a newb when it comes to this stuff, never worked on anything like this before.
It was explained to me that any non-character-for-character replacement (e.g. 'the' for 'and') would cause the game to change.
However, this does bring up an issue I had been thinking about off and on...
The unpatched and trimmed ROM is 98.7MB.
All my patched ROMs have also been 98.7MB.
I realize that text is not inherently big itself, but there is no visible effect on the output filesize.
Some of the translations we've added are twice as big (in KB)
[edit]: I just checked my files, the Translated scripts files are 4.11MB, the Originals are 4.08MB. so it's too small of a change to notice in the ROM without comparing byte size.
