Hi all,

I made a topic not long ago and got a usefull advice that i should format my MicroSd with Panasonic Sd Formater.
Must say the menu and games selection is going way faster.. but when i put more then 4 games on the sd card,
save's will still get corrupted.

Getting very sad on this r4 now i only got Final Fantasy Chocobo and Mario and Luigi inside story on the sd,
and today when i turned on my DS i got again on Mario and luigi game Corrupted save needs to be deleted..

Played yesterday whole night lol and save is gone yay!
Any idea? for not i just put my Micro sd card in my laptop when i turn off my ds to be sure but this no way of doing all the time.

Well hope anyone knows a solution because i ran out of idea's

Update :
savecorrupted.jpg

This is what i get when i turn off my Ds and turn on the Ds again and run mario and luigi inside story

Are you properly ejecting (right click, Eject Device) the microSD before you yank it out of your laptop? If not, that's likely a problem. Removing the microSD from the cart every time your done playing just adds needless handling.

hi,

yeh i use eject device everytime when i remove the card with cardreader.
but its likely more the problem on the DS with R4 because the save is good and working,
and after a while its corrupted somehow.

Bigger question: Where did you get the microSD card from?

I use a Kingston 4gb MicroSd Class4

I've been using this cart and a Kingston microSD for nearly 2 years and I've never had this problem. It's likely user error, or a borked cart (doubtful).

I remember having said problem and it was fixed by setting the right save-size.

Perhaps the auto-patching system doesn't patch correctfully?

Try formatting the card via Windows, FAT32 and 64K clustersize, full format. Not Quick Format.

And get the newest firmware from linfoxdomain.

If that doesn't help, I don't know what will. This seems to be bad writes having to do with the FW.

Yes : http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ (look at the R4 section and seek on the corresponding site that has been given on your packaging or the sticker on your card - there are more R4 SDHC cards, confusing isn't it

)

I can validate that alternate (like Norrod.nl) is one of the quality shops in the Netherlands.

Lol i see! it realy is confusing!

I made a discovery, When i save with Final Fantasy Chocobo game i have no problems...
its because of the save size i guess??

Ahhh i understand now i guess? Like Mario and Luigi Inside Story you need Eeprom 64kbits.. soo Clustersize 64k?
and what about games above 64kbits? like Eeprom - 512 kbit would Fat16 with 64k Clustersize work?

I love to format it Fat32 with Clustersize 64k but... on Fat32 i can only go till 32k.
Sooo i have to format it Fat16 and then the only option is 64k... guess thats what you meen then?

Ahh yes on my R4i SDHC it says on the front : r4i-sdhc.com
and on the back TRUTH INQUIRY (sticker)

Update :
Soo far soo good with Fat16 64k Clustersize... saved 2 more spots in the game,
and turned off the DS and save was still good... even after couple of hard resets... still good.. hope it stays this way..

Great help Achelos!

Great help Achelos!

I have seemed to forget that FAT16 Only supports up to 2GB. And clustersize doesn't have anything to do with the size of the savegame files =] Those are totally different things opposed to each other. If r4i-sdhc is the site then on linfox you need to find the site corresponding to that one and use the firmware there.

Let's hope this works!

I am thinking of a 2gb microsd just for testing what brand would be the best for R4i?

r4isdhc.com
r4i-sdhc.com.tw
