The site r4ids.cn, known for hosting the R4i Gold as well as the files to actually get it working is now down as of this day, and perhaps permanently due to what Google Translate tells us.

If someone still has the firmware update that updates the cart to work on 3DS (I don't since I deleted it after using it) please post it here and I will add it to my post.

I have this exact card. Arrived yesterday, and on a NDS and 3DS, the system boots to black. Did I have a dud delivered to me?
I am unwise to more steps to take to be able to enjoy pirated backups in my system.
Please, advise.

Did you visit this site http://www.r4ids.cn/r4i-download-e.htm and get the 1.64 wood firmware? It should work in the ds. I think you need other files for the card to work in the 3ds.
