Hacking R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn) Compatibility issue

I just recently purchased the R4i Gold 3DS from r4ids.cn, and it won't work with my 3DS updated to 2.2.0-4u (most recent software that was on Super Mario 3D Land game). Their website claims it is compatible (http://www.r4ids.cn/news.htm), but I can't seem to get it working with any combination of firmware and/or kernels of off their website. I figure someone on this forum may have had the same issue, so just trying to find the solution.

There firmware currently only supports 2.2.0-4 Japanese firmware. Someone on this forum (mr.nintendo) had his email answered and the r4ids.cn team said the update for 2.2.0-4 USA will be "pretty soon." So, we just have to wait.

**update 11-21-2011**

Proper firmware for 2.2.0-4 has been released :D

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

    It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff

    Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
