Hacking r4i gold 3ds problems

I have received a r4 gold 3ds card which is supposed to work directly on 4.5.0. Bought from digitopz, official reseller. Anyway the main site r4ids.cn has been suspended so i cant get any kernels or help there. I downloaded the r4 wood kernel from here and put it in. The card shows some weird ass icon with chinese writing and konami digital entertainment underneath it. When attempting to load this i get a white screen then a an infinite black screen. So i imagine it needs updating id assume, so much for it working directly. Anyway i cant get on the site for the help or patches or anything. I am using kernel 31270-Wood_R4_v1.56 is this the correct one?

Has gbatemp got a page dedicated for this card or the wood guy. Basically for any future updates as r4ids.cn is now dead.

I purchased a deep labrinth card it is however a kirby card. Is it worth sending it back and getting it replaced?
