Hacking R4i Gold 3DS not working on 3DS

Hello.
Ive fallen behind on updates and I havent used my R4 in a while.
I just updated today and i can't get it to work on my 3DS. It IS working properly with my DSLite, so ive confirmed that the R4 itself isnt damaged.

What im working with:
R4i Gold 3DS
Wood R4iGold Firmware 1.47 (http://www.r4ids.cn/...download-e.html)[the most recent at the top of the list]

Ive tried running an NDS version of the kernal from my DSLite (http://filetrip.net/...147-f28238.html) which didn't do much.
Does anybody know what the issue is?

You're doing it wrong.

And you'll obviously have to apply that on a DS Lite or older before you can use it in your 3DS.

Took a shot at patching the R4.
The patching process won't go through.

At the menu where it asks you to hit B for "card check" I get a "Fail" message.
Same issue when I hit A to "Update".

then I guess you have a different cart
find out what you really have and try again with the correct update

you did also try both the files that came with it?

as the DS-DSlite file is for Dead cards
and the DSi-3DS update is for ones currently working

i updated mine on a DS-Phat using the DSi-3DS file

Yup. You were right. the NDSL patch didn't work, but the NDSi did!

It seems that you have used the wrong patch.You have used V1.44 patch for r4i gold 3ds or V1.44 patch for r4i gold non-3DS?
