Hacking R4i deluxe keep corrupting save files every time I recopy games

Ok guys, I've got my R4i deluxe for few months and keep getting this issue since the 1st day.
I'm on the newest fw (4.02b) and most of games got corrupt when I delete and recopy them to the SD card. When I got a new game and there was no more space on SD card, I delete some games, to spare some space for the new games, then after finishing them, I switched back to my old games that got deleted early on (but already had the save files on big SD card that contains R4 fw). The thing is when those old game booted, all save files got corrupt message and I have to replay them from the beginning.

Note that I keep all my roms in 3ds and had no header patch for them. They are the same since the last time I deleted them. The save files load fine as long as the games are in the SD card, but as soon as I delete them, then try to recopy back to card, save files get corrupt and I lost all my progress.

My 3DS is 4.1 E and some of my games load just fine such as fantasy life and bravely default even after being deleted and then recopied. But most other games have the issue.

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for my bad English.

the problem is not when recopying games , I got this error when I had a clone by just stopping playing a game then coming to play later.. and it also happened with new games not played before the new firmware. It's a problem with clones and I told them long ago but they haven't tried to fix anything ( they are dead now) . I think it must be a problem of the clone card itself in conjunction with the SD card ? Also it's a random bug because almost 0 people have complained about it...

IF you have this your almost only choice would be switching to a gateway... right now they are sitll not as expensive as before and you might as well do it now because when the new update comes it might increase in price. Otherwhise if you want to play those games now and you HAVENT saved with them on the new firmware ( ergo , you still have a backup of them pre 4.02 on the computer ) you should fall back to 3.0 firmware and play them there...

are your SD cards genuine? test both of them with h2testw, but im not sure if r4 ever did fix the save corruption code gateway included to mess with the clone teams, but i imagine we would see more posts like this if they hadn't though.......just test your cards, sounds like there is something wrong with them, they are probably dodgy

NINJA : ahhh ok it seems the save corruption stuff is still present for the clones.....maybe try reformatting everything, or changing SD cards....still check the SD cards though just to be sure

Mine is a Toshiba 16GB class 10 and I'm pretty sure that they are genuine. Copy speed is around 12MB/s write and 20 read. I don't know if it's hardware or software issue.

Wow, that, might be the best answer for what I'm experiencing right now. Thanks you guys for replying! But the weird thing is some games were left for a while, untouched like 2-3 weeks in the SD card still load fine at this moment as I'm reopening 'em. But others that are deleted for just few days to a week will definitely lose their progresses.

masterzero: What do you mean by it's a random bug? Meaning my card is a defect? Because that would be very frustrating!

But I think I'm about to switch to Gateway anyway. R4 team is dead already...

yes , as far as Im concerned , its a random bug that only happens with the new firmware , so it's fault of the new firmware too

But to be clear, anything related to hardware of the R4 card? Or just the fw. Or its the combination of both, a unique badly-made R4 and the new fw?

it's a combination of both probably. Maybe they copied badly the multirom feature and it backfired with some cards

pretty much just the FW, basically they where cloning gateway so gateway put some code in the gateway firmware to mess with people stealing their fw and selling clone cards........most famously the brick code, but from what i read there was also something that cause saves to randomly be corrupted, now im not sure if the save corruption was a form of anti-clone code, or if R4 & co just messed up when copying the gateway firmware, but non the less in later versions of the r4 FW saves will randomly be corrupted, not sure why, for some people it happened frequently, whilst others didn't really have it happen

well good luck, at least you will be receiving updates and be able to play all the games now, maybe you can try reselling your R4 to get some of the money back you spent on it, but don't expect too much for it, most people are aware that its not really the best card to have, so many people have now upgraded to gateway.....you should still be able to get something for it though

don't think it's the FW alone , like I said , a lot of people have reported 0 problems and if it were the firmware a lone a lot of reports would be heard of

well idk some people who where having the errors on the latest versions said if they went back to one of the really old versions, saving worked fine.....i wonder if it could be FW specific, like when GW had all the errors on b1 for people using 4.1 but 4.2-4.5 worked fine with b1....idk, but regardless some people gets lots of corrupt saves, while others seem to never get corruption issues........could be a variety of things SD cards/FW version or even a hardware fault, but i would guess its more likely SD/FW version thats the cause of it

Ok, haven't though of that. I'm going to update my 3DS system fw to 4.5
Can I use rom in my R4 to update system menu to 4.5? As I recall that you can press Up on Dpad and enter the game that has the same region with your 3DS to update or something.

not sure with R4 tbh, i know gateway can do it.....might as well give it a try i suppose

Hope it just the system fw that caused the issue.
