Hacking R4i 3DS - "not" RTS Rev. C Card

So...I have been trying to update my card for some time now. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I've watched video after video. Read post after post and nothing is solving my problem.

I'm trying to update the card to work with my 3DS. The 3DS is at version 4.5.0-10U. I am trying to update the card with my DSLite. I have no idea what version the DSLite is.

I have the new wood kernel. Let me repeat that...I have the new wood kernel. I just downloaded it about 20-30 minutes ago. And no, I have not cut the line since I cannot update it yet.

I have tried many things to get it to work. Pulling card out after "punching" A and "slamming" it back in. I still get a fail . I have also tried "other" methods, like pushing B non-stop till I felt my arm start to spasm. I have pictures below. Maybe these cards suck, i don't know. Any help would be appreciated. Please . Thanks for any info you have about this insane card.

Honestly, this card is as bad as having bad ram...

I am in the EXACT same situation as you, to the letter.

There are others like us in this thread too. I'm hoping we'll get a solution soon.

Okay, so...The R4i 3DS team just updated the kernel to Ver. 1.61.

I just tried updating my flash card with my DSLite using the new kernel.
When I started up the update file for the NDSLite it said "card check: Fail".
So I ejected the card and reinserted it back in. Then, the "card check: OK" popped up. Cool right?
But! When it started updating it said "update: Fail".

Now the R4i icon isn't popping up on the DSLite or my 3DS.

Well now, I don't know if I should cut the line or wait...

If anyone else tries to update with the new kernel let me know what happened

I haven't tried the eject-and-reinsert method yet with the new WOOD kernal, and I don't plan to until I found out if it works after cutting the line.

Okay, so I gave up on waiting for the crappy card update...
I just said screw it and cut the line on my card and I have to say, NO it did not work for my R4i3DS non RTS card.
Now, for anyone out there with the same card, don't update it yet...
And yes, I will be getting the DSTwo card

Well thanks for at least letting me know what happened. Maybe you can get a refund, although I doubt it.

It was no problem. Someone had to do it.
Honestly, It wasn't worth sending it back. I just chucked it.
