    Hi,

Please could anybody help me? I got myself a R4DS a couple of weeks ago and have had no joy what so ever in getting it up and running...

Firstly I have the following an apple mac g5 (intel duo core), R4DS & a 1gb micro sd card (oh yeah, and a ds). I have downloaded version 1.11 from the R4DS website but I am unable to open it up. I have looked at various forums & watched demos on U Tube. I have also tried downloading a .rar expander but to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I was about to, but then I read that you have a mac....

You'll have to find a program that will extract .rar's and works with macintosh operating systems. [IMG]

The file should be a .rar file, you can extract the contents of it using Winrar (I think you can grab a mac version from the Rarlabs download page)

I didn't have any problems using a Macbook. I'm using UnrarX for decompressing .rar files.

You just have to extract everything and copy it over to the microSD card. I'm checking again now with v1.12.

First of all you cannot have a G5 and Intel Core Duo at the same time, as they're both two completely different processors [IMG]

Second of all, just go and download Stuffit Expander from http://www.versiontracker.com/ -- It'll expand RAR files. That and RAR Expander.

You should not have any issues decompressing the file.

Stuffit sucks for RAR files. Get UnrarX as suggested. You won't regret it. [IMG]

Well stuffit opens to unrar the file and it closes. Its much more convenient for everyday uses. Its also relatively fast. UnrarX does not close when finished. If id had an option, i would prefer it, as it is faster. I dont like the idea of a terminal thing though, and closing it everytime.

Got it working... Thanx everyone for your help...

Next question does anybody know why I can't use a 4GB micro sd card (HC) with the R4DS...?

Your R4DS version is not compatible with SDHC. Its a hardware issue, there's nothing anyone can do.

The R4 team is releasing a new version of R4s which are compatible with SDHC carts, so there's no other way but to get other one [IMG]
