So when me and my friend try to trade in the union room, we don't show up in each others rooms. So im wondering is it possible to trade between 2 R4s using the union room or is there just some problem, if so what is the problem. Also what other ways are there to trade pokemon on R4s

Assuming you're both using Generation 5 games, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to trade in the Union Room.

You can add each others' friend codes and use the online union room, that should work.
