ROMs from anywhere in the world work.

Just the language changes. Like there is Japan, Korea, Europe, US....

As long as it's a ROM, it plays on any DS.

What language do they use on the European roms?

I guess that there really is no difference. Maybe a bit of European grammar, and vice versa. And title. Like Touch the Dead in US is called Dead 'n Furious in Europe. That's it. Just Japanese ROMs are in ... well, Japanese.

European roms usually contain English and a few other European languages. Japanese roms are usually in Japanese but very occasionally have english as a selectable language. English in jap games is pretty rare though.

EDIT: The English in euro roms can differ slightly to the US versions but nothing major. Usually things like armor as armour, etc.

However if you're downloading something like "all us roms wooot" it won't include EU games which is in English. I'm trying to keep list of those exclusive to Europe here
