Hello guys,
i have a problem with my r4 gold 3ds rts.
My Games lag very much, not even 30 fps in some games.
- I ordered it from nds-card.com, so it isnt a fake card.
- I use a 16gb Samsung Class 10 micro sd card
- I formatted it FAT32

Can anyone help me?

Can you try another microsd card?
I tried 2 micro-sd cards.
Samsung 16gb class 10 and Intenso 4gb class 4.
Result: samsung 16gb was quite faster in menu.
However: ingame, it runs quite normal, but in some situations the game slows significantly down (for example in need for speed nitro and tony hawks american sk8land).

Maybe it's normal that it doesn't run perfect on r4 idk.

A few suggestions, try backing up your SD card and formatting with this
Panasonic SDFormatter
Use these options to format : FORMAT TYPE : FULL (OverWrite). FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT : ON
If it still lags, try another microSD card.

I think that normal MicroSD cards are slower than DS ROMs, so the DS kinda has to wait for the stuff to load from the microSD. But it shouldn't be much of a problem.

It shouldn't be a problem at all. I've never seen a single game drop frame rate, in comparison to a real cart, and that is using a really old, slow microsd card from 10 + years ago

So my best solution was formatting it normally FAT32 with allocation size 64KB.

Runs pretty decent, but not 100% Smooth.

Using the Panasonic SD Formatter didn't make a difference.

Original windows formatter and choosing 64KB is the best solution.

It's most likely your cluster size, the higher the cluster size the faster it goes most of the time.

I recommend this https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

keep in mind if your SD is above 32GB this won't work. Just press Overwrite Format, and name your SD if you wish and press format and wait till it's done.

I bought a SanDisk Ultra class 10 and have to say, there isnt a difference between samsung and sandisk.
3D games like super mario 64 and mario kart run perfectly on both micro-sd cards.
only some games (for me need for speed nitro and tony hawks american sk8land) doesnt run 100% smooth, some slow downs happen sometimes, but it isnt a big deal.

The R4i Gold 3DS RTS uses the Wood R4 kernel (v1.64) from www.r4ids.cn which works great. The problem is the flashcart itself doesn't have great support because of the technology it uses. Back in October the developers redid the main board (now it's blue) for the flashcart, the problem is the microSD cards have issues now because of a flaw with the new sets of the R4i Gold 3DS RTS flashcarts. The best solution temporarily is to get an R4i Gold 3DS Plus which uses the same Wood R4 kernel HOWEVER the support it has is much better, most games are now lagless (for me anyways). The R4i Gold 3DS Plus is around the same price as the original R4i Gold (just $2 more really, not bad at all) so it's worth it in my book.

I think that you made a typo or something. The kernel for r4idsn.com only goes up to 1.62, the same applies for the other cards that work with wood.
Nope 1.64 exists I'll provide a download.

Labeled "Newest WOOD R4 Kernel" on the website download section.

Made an error with the website link, it's www.r4ids.cn if that's the error you were meaning then thank you for catching it ;).
