Hacking R4 and zip files

Is there any way to give the R4 Zip support so you can zip the roms down ?

No. No flashcart supports compressed DS roms.

If you want to save space on your memory card, trim your roms. I use NDSTokyoTrim myself, but there are several good rom trimmers available.

all mine are trimmed but i also noticed that even after trimmed they zip even down more.

Yes, they do, but you can't use them that way.

is it really that much saved space, didnt seem to save me that much space

You can use DSCompress, but it won't help you all that much unless you want to spend 10 minutes uncompressing a game file before you can use it. Also you'd have to have enough free space on the card for the full uncompressed rom anyway.
