Hacking R4 and DSi?

Is it correct that the R4 (I have the original) won't work with the DSi?

Does it depend on the firmware? Right now, I'm running ysmenu.

Would the old R4 work if I were to get a new DS Lite? Nintendo hasn't updated new DS Lite's to block this, right?

R4 only works on DS and DS Lite.

Acekards are the best cheap ones, CycloDS are the best not-so-cheap ones.

I'd recommend Acekard 2i or the M3i Zero.

How confident is everyone that the Acekard can be updated via software to keep up with any further blocks from Nintendo? Does it officially support the 1.4 firmware now?

DX should be fine, they are the cheapest but it can take up to two weeks to arrive. Otherwise it's pretty much yes to all your questions.

R4 does not work. I have a DS lite, a DSi and an R4DS. I ordered an acekard2i from dealextreme and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. Having 2 flashcarts and 2 DS's is useful for connecting. Good luck with all your stuff
