I know some people were concerned about the durablilty of the circle pad , hinge etc... so figured id report on how my 3DS is doing after 19 days.

CIRCLE PAD : Is a little looser then when i first got it (normal break in im sure) still works 100% still centers back like it should . No signs of wear on the rubber etc.... this is all after hours and hours of use on it (Street Fighter IV, Mario 64 DS, Lego Star Wars Complete Saga, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat)

DPAD: granted i havent used this nowhere near as much as the circled pad its still 100% like it was from day one i really only used this when playing New Super Mario DS

HINGE: not loose or anything like that still clicks into place like it should , no problems here

TRIGGER BUTTONS: still as clicky as they were day one seem much more durable then the past ds trigger buttons

ABYX BUTTONS: as to be expected still same as when i got it [IMG]

3D SLIDER: this was one thing i was worried about over time but so far it still works 100% and hasnt loosened up or anything like that

SCREENS : im a person that never uses screen protectors never have never will i do baby all my stuff though with that said my screens are still fine no visible scratches etc....

CASING: i have one small scratch on the bottom of the 3ds not sure how it got there as i keep it in a case always (sooner or later its bound to happen) ... anyways rest of casing looks brand new still [IMG]

ummm think that about wraps it up any questions or if i left out anything let me know thx....

The only thing I ever had issues with has been the shoulder (usually the R) buttons. My DSi usually won't register it, but then I blow into the button (yes, like an NES) and it works. I think mine is just dust issues. Stupid dusty climate.

It's a relief that after 2 weeks the 3ds didn't disintegrate into dust....

the scratch could perhaps be from the charging dock, it's plastic and allows the 3DS to slide around.

Hey! You stole my DSphat! jk.
That's basically the same condition my DSphat is in, with the exception of having screen protectors on it and the bottom sticker with serial # and such is still attached (clear covering is slightly peeling off though).

DS Phats are fucking tanks, seems like most first edition models of something are. Seems like they take out a lot of that protection to make the system cheaper, lighter, and slimmer. PSP 1000's hold up just as well too. It's good to see the 3DS is built like the Phat though.

My worry is the trigger buttons

the trigger buttons on my dsi dont work 99% of the time, even with the blow trick.

the buttons on the 3ds look the same so i hope not to have that problem

It makes me happy not having to pay an early repair. It'd be nice if you updated again in like a month :P
