Hello everyone.
I have a ntsc J wii in firmware 3.2J and it is hard modded with Wiikey v1.
I installed Homebrew channel and USBloader GX on it.
Everything works fine.
When I launch usb loader gx, I can see a list of channels installed on my wii, including the homebrew channel and the regions for those channels. USBloader GX shows that my homebrew channel is for PAL region. But I am able to run it on my ntsc j wii.
Does this mean that there are different regions for homebrew channels? PAL, NTSC U, NTSCJ etc?
Or is it that the homebrew channel will work on all wiis regardless of region ?
Or is it because I have wii key installed that I was able to run a channel not native to my wii region?

Now if my friend who has a ntsc U Wii with firmware 3.2U and whose wii is not modded in anyway (nether softmod or hardmod) then would he need a ntsc u region homebrew channel or will any region do?

There are no different versions of the Homebrew Channel for different regions, I don't know why it reports PAL. The authors are from Europe, maybe they never bothered setting the region and it kind of defaulted PAL.
But the exploit you'll be using to softmod your friend's Wii could be region-specific, depending on the exploit.
