ROM Hack Question Questions on how to read .FILE extension file

Hi all, i am new in this forum and new to learn about how to edit the savefile.

I extract the savefile of ""story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town"" (by using checkpoint)
I found that it is not a .dat file and look like below:

I have already make some difference (e.g change the money in game) and extract two savefile.
When I put it into the Hex Editor ,the two files nearly total different.

What step I do wrong? Just feel confused


ANOTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT FTP.

as I am not sure the NS Switch can use this or not , my fd told me that I will be banned by N when I connect to WIFI.
Everytime need to take out the SD card when I need the file inside..........

This is not .file file extension. This are files without any extension. They may be totally different, if they are using some compression. Size of saves are identical or slightly different?

Do use the payload "Reboot to Payload Storm Mod" to get out of the Micro Sd card.
Or via FTP.

size of saves are identical but when I look with hex editor, it is totally different....

Try recognising files with file command. (There is no built-in in windows but there is a build for it, google)

I'm sorry for reviving such an old post (is that something ok to do?) But I'd like to ask OP if they were successful in editing the save file, I'm trying to do the same.
