there's an rto place near me that has cooler master pc towers and i'm wanting to know what kind of specs the towers have and how outdated they are

the model number from a tower that was on a flier i got in the mail today: n46bam31-n1bk/wt

and here's the model number for the one listed on the website: AYG-E357-N46BAM31

i'm 100% they are both the same system but the model numbers are pretty different

this is the only thing that's listed on the website for the website model number:

|| || |Processors - Desktops| AMD Ryzen 7 5700G|
|Motherboards - AMD| ASRock B550m|
|Video Cards - AMD/ATI| GeForce RTX 4060 WINDFORCE OC 8G|
|Memory| 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600|
|Solid State Disk| 1TB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Internal SSD|
|Power| High Power 600W Gold|
|Operating Systems| Win 11 Home|
|Case| Cooler Master Elite 301|
|CPU Cooling| Hyper 212 Spectrum V3|
|K/B + Mouse| Gamdias Keyboard/Mouse|

my hp omen is 6 years out of date, and while it still works good, microsoft are being a bunch of cunts and won't support my i7 7700 cpu despite supporting cpus dated from 2000 for windows 11

i really don't want to make the move, cause of all the surveillance that's on w11, but i also can't afford to stop getting updates to my hp omen

my pc also has a nasty habit of throwing a kernal_security_failure and memory_management_failure blue screens

it's been doing that for the last couple years, because it locked up real bad in 2022 and i had to pull the power cord in order to shut it off, because it locked up everything, including the power button and pulling the cord was the only way to turn it

right now i'm using an ssd for windows and haven't had any blue screens YET, but it's only been a couple months and those bsods hit at the most random times possible

and hp completely erased everything about the omen from their website, so there's no way for me to look up what to use as a replacement motherboard (if i need one) or a replacement w11 cpu so i can just keep using my omen

Depends what you mean by outdated. Just not current gen or not a viable system anymore?

CPU and motherboard are AM4 and two gens back from current AMD.
DDR4 is argubly outdated. AM4 is the last AMD platform to support it and Intel are dropping it with Arrow Lake.

Still a perfectly capable cpu though. Bit weird pairing it with a gpu though especially as the 5700G drops PCIE4 in favour of the igpu. So you are sacrificing being able to use a gen 4 drive at pcie4 speeds in favour of a igpu that you don't need.

4060 is a current gen card.

Powersupply is ????. 600w is fine for that system, but likely a crappy cheap supply (normally the case when it's not specified exactly what supply it is).

Everything else is stuff that isn't really a thing that gets "outdated".

As with everything, it comes down to price. I wouldn't pay top money for an AM4 system, but for the right price, it's a capable enough system.

not current gen, but plays current gen games without any problems

i'm assuming you mean this is all for the stuff about the cooler master towers

cause none of that is what my omen is, and it's an 870-244

i'm pretty sure this is kinda what hp had on their website before they deleted everything https://www.newegg.com/hp-omen-870-...KA15?msockid=071d56b0b3e96bd50cf7424fb2886aa4

Oh yeah, sorry it's late here, brain is half a sleep already, yeah that's all for the coolermaster specs you listed.

Coolermaster specs will be fine for 1080p for most things (There's always the odd badly optimised game). If you want higher than 1080p, look elsewhere, 4060 isn't the card for it.

For the HP, it has no upgrade path to make it officially support win11 if that is what you are looking for. Win11 support officially starts with 8th gen intel.

You can't upgrade to compatible cpu in your current board. There's just no path to do it, you would have to swap board and cpu and at that point, you may as well go for something modern.

You can bypass the requirements https://www.makeuseof.com/rufus-bypass-tpm-secure-boot-requirements-windows-11/ to get on win 11 and it will run fine, if that's all you really want, only the official upgrade/install path will block you.

There's just no guarantee MS won't play silly games in future and if you play online games, I wouldn't recommend that method either. Some anti-cheats are starting to enforce official win 11 requirements (tpm, secure boot & some other things).

so i have no choice but to get a different pc?

cause there's no way for me to get to the motherboard to remove it because of everything being in the way and bolted down

If you want official support of win 11, then it's either:

New pc.
Change motherboard & cpu & possibly memory (depending on what you swapped to, but 2133mhz ddr4 will bottleneck anything modern even if you stay on a ddr4 platform).

Looking at this thread that shows how to remove the gpu support.

https://www .reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/7wwh71/hp_omen_870244_gpu_bracket/

(remove the space, gbatemp keeps breaking reddit links for some reason).

Nothing appears to be proprietary, just a standard microatx board by the look of it. So in theory you can go that route instead ,new motherboard+cpu & likely memory.

Will be cheaper, but then it's new stuff on a generic 500w hp supply that is 6 years old now. I wouldn't do that, but it's an option.

CPU is more important than GPU and you are definitely holding back this 4060 in this build. Windows 11 IS BAD i would not bother to install if you have windows 10 working correctly.

Assuming you are talking about the coolermaster 5700g build, definitely holding a 4060 back is a strong statement, anything to back it up? (hopefully not those "bottleneck" calculator sites).

While there are no tests I can see of that specific config, based on performance of the components it's not too hard to make an educated guess based on other combos.

4060 isn't even as quick as a 3060ti (thanks Nvidia for pushing the x50 class cards up a tier)
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/msi-geforce-rtx-4060-gaming-x/32.html

A 5600X and 3060ti were/are a common combo and generally considered well balanced.

5700G is only 11% slower on average than a 5600X https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-5700g/15.html

So I don't see a massive issue. 5600X and 3060ti are generally considered fine and a good pair. 5700G is slightly slower, but then so is the 4060.

Nothing is ever perfectly balanced, there's always badly optimised games, but it seems resonably well balanced.

windows 10 works fine on my omen

but they are cutting off support and security updates a year from now, and i can't afford to have that happen

especially with all the online stuff i do on my computer

i don't know what kind of motherboard i have, since hp deleted everything omen from their website, i don't know where to locate pictures to show what it looks like

there are other rto places i have looked at for a replacement tower, but i don't know that much about current and modern pcs to know what's good and what's not

and there's only so many places i can go to with my credit the way it is, since it's only been 2 years since i was discharged from a bankruptcy

that's why i was asking about the cooler master setup, because the place it's at, doesn't do credit checks

Oh my god! That's not good! Ewww!:( I had HP desktop computer and check on HP website for drivers. Indeed you are right! HP destroy all drivers for most of older to old desktop computers and laptops without warning is illegal! I'm shocked and surprise! Thanks for warning about HP. I was download all drivers and put on hard drive D: (Storage) forever (never delete it). I would force to re-copy all drivers on USB thumb drive, external hard drive and put all drivers on Google Drive and MediaFire when I come back to my old HP desktop to do work on it.

I want to tell anyone. All OEM companies like Acer, DELL (include Alienware), HP, Lenovo, VAIO are full garbage. Want to know why? I find out myself. Because they are poor tech support and not want to fix people computers what they have face issues or problems from their. They have quality issues gone down road. Awful!

I glad quit from their crappy products due to OEM (Acer, DELL, HP, etc) and move into CyberPowerPC last year in November. Never give me any problems. It's custom built gaming desktop have Gigabyte motherboard, Gigabyte Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti, ADATA 2 TB SSD are great brand names. I done with DELL and HP then will never buy again period.

Also I heard about CLX company are good and have good tech support than all OEM computers. I strong recommend custom built computers from CyberPowerPC, CLX and other few names (I not remember some). iBUYPOWER is around in middle or fair. I know Falcon Northwest is too much price, that's for rich people only to buy very high prices. That's why.

For right now, we must focus on top quality made motherboards are: Asrock, ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI. No more other brand names. Just 4 top quality motherboard makers.

I recommend anyone buy Phanteks Enthoo Pro series PH-ES614PC_BK Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case for our current and future build any new motherboard, etc for many, many years are best than all lousy OEM computers (Acer, DELL, HP, etc).

This computer tower are beast powerful and future proof.

When motherboard going to failure like dead anytime in near future. Toss motherboard out and replace another new motherboard, CPU, RAM, storage to save our money in long running for many years (20+ years or more).

;):yay:

i don't have the money to spend on a custom built pc because i live on disability and i get $1600 less than the state minimum where i live at

so for me, it's gotta be a rent-to-own pre-built pc

Awww. I understand now. I have two disabilities.

Rent to own pre-built PC is fine. Make sure check all inside computer are dust free then would be good. Check all temperatures from motherboard, CPU and GPU make sure good enough to not have overheat issues. ;)
that's why i was asking about the cooler master towers, because they are brand new and i know nothing about them

cause my omen, while it's 6 years old, still runs and works fine minus the random bsod bullshit it throws, i need to do something with it by either upgrading the cpu (if that's even possible to do) or just replacing it since they are ending w10 in 1 year

I don't know why you keep asking about "cooler master towers"? You appear to be asking about some miscellaneous custom PC that happens to use a case made by Cooler Master. It does not otherwise have anything to do with Cooler Master. If you go anywhere else in the world and ask about a "cooler master tower", they will give you an empty case.
