while it is true every 3DS is downgradable now keep in mind there is maintenance coming up next week (May 10th) and most likely there will be both a 3DS and Wii U update at that time. I probably won't update my 3DS for a couple of days after that just to make sure they haven't found a way around a9lh or added extra detection/banning code.

That goes without saying.
Better safe than sorry. Never update if an update came out before experienced Devs called it "safe".

To OP
I got a N3DS not long ago and it was on 9.0 out of the box.
However I don't think any 3DS system will be higher than 10.3 out of the box.
Usually they are 9.6 or 9.8 from what I've seen.
You are 100% safe to buy a 3DS that's on a browser/menuhax exploitable version. Unless you get a used one.

Hopefully I'll have the same results, was that with O/N 3DS?

Why do you need another System if you have 3 already btw?

Yeah, though with a9lh and Luma I am more concerned with the possibility of detection/banning code than with finding a way around the firm0/firm1 protection. I assume that downgrading is possible regardless of firmware version if you are using the cia version of plaisysupdater?
