Hacking Question: SuperCard SD (SLOT 2) and SAVE GAMES...

Do the save games in SUPERCARD MINISD get saved directly to the SD card or does it go through a cartridge memory? Does its save capabilities ever wear out after heavy usage?

(Cos I had previous GBA cartridges that lost their save files over time)
