Hi everyone,

Is it possible to install Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) games through a USB in a flashed Xbox 360?

As in DVD flashed?

You can play demos of them even on a stock console (you can burn a DVD and put it in a stock console even). I don't know what will happen offhand if you use the modified XBLA that many JTAG and RGH users will go in for, and I imagine they will be the most popular.

At one point there was a thing called profile sharing but that has long since been kicked in the head. I mention it mainly in case you find it in a search. Short version is some people got together, bought loads of XBLA games and DLC, semi anonymised the profiles and shared it with the world so people could play it.

Some XBLA games saw various exploits that allowed you to play the whole game, though I imagine most of those versions are blacklisted at this point.

Not sure what goes right now for the two or three things that came on memory cards for the original 360s as far as installing them.

A handful of XBLA games got bundled up and made into ? in one game packs. Some of the games were good stuff (bomberman live and splosion man should be doable) but you will be missing out on a lot (if you have an xbone then see about getting the Rare collection there if you want to do perfect dark, banjo kazooie and whatnot). See popcap arcade, popcap hits, Namco Museum Virtual Arcade, xbox live arcade unplugged/compilation/game pack/Xbox 360 Triple Pack. Konami Classics, Capcom digital collection, think Sega had something for some of the dreamcast games and maybe we can count Midway Arcade Origins in this. Some things also released for XBLA and disc (see something like serious sam collection) and after this I am looking at Sega megadrive collections, worms the revolution and whatnot.

There might be a list of XBLA that got disc releases out there but a token search did not get me much.
The games themselves and the isos will probably be quite hard to come by today but you might get lucky.

DLC wise there is the PIRS DLC. There was also LIVE2CON (LIVE, CON and PIRS are basically the same format but have different requirements as far as hashes -- LIVE being traditional GOD, XBLA and DLC type software, CON being save files and PIRS being the things various game of the year things allowed you to install DLC with.

Short version. You are going to need a JTAG or RGH family mod to play XBLA and DLC other than those small handful of things released on disc.
