Now, since we are able to install VPKs made from vitamin there's now a demand for larger vita cards.

However, Vita cards cost insanely high and I was wondering, what can we do with a smaller card.

For instance, would it be possible to install vpks onto a 4gb card and then afterwards copy the contents of the 4gb card to PC and install other vpks. And then would I be able to interchangeably just copy the contents from PC to card and vice versa so I can kind of swap games that I want to play?

damn, and I just feel bad for my 16gb already, can't imagine how a pain in the ass could be dealing with a 4gb memory card lol, well, to install a vpk dump game you just need the eboot.bin + se_sys folder, the rest of the content you can just transfer it from pc to the vita, so one thing you can try is install some games with this method and just transfer the game content from the game you want to play, then to delete the game just delete the content except the eboot.bin + se_sys folder and there you go XD, of course this is just a theory, maybe you can try and tell us if this works for you.

I don't own a vita yet, its the prohibitive costs of the memory card that is making me think about the most cost effective way to get a vita.

On a side note, I've read that the Vita 1000 is better than the Slim in terms of OLED screen and the heft/feel of the 1000 as compared to the slim

yes, the OLED screen from the 1000 version is much better, really the difference between OLED and LCD while you are playing is just incomparable, specially if you have been playing on the 3ds, just wow, on the other hand, while you can feel a heft feeling with the 1000, is also remarkable to say that it feels sturdy, slim is still a nice version.
As for the memories yes, they are almost prohibitive, lol, but if you are going to invest in some memory in the future, you should go for at least a 32gb, in the meantime you still can play games with a stock 4gb memory, I think the heavier games for vita are less than 4gb afaik.

the difference in weight is huge between the two models
and the slim has the better battery life of the two
there's nothing wrong with the lcd either, it's really sharp and crisp

If the oled is the major selling point to you? More power to you. The slim is a great buy, even without it. Better battery. Smaller, light, and better grip. The only downside is that the plastic really degraded build quality.

The PS Vita Slim has roughly the same proportions as the original PS Vita when seen face-on (85.1 x 183.6mm to 83.5 x 182mm) but is obviously thinner - although only by 3mm. The PS Vita Slim is 15mm thick, while the PS Vita is 18mm.

It weighs a bit less at 220g to the original's 260g.

If you are going to sacrifice an OLED screen for a 40g less weight, then is really not worth it, plus while there is nothing wrong with an LCD screen, comparing it with the OLED one its just like a day and night.

Nothing wrong with slim but I don't think the different in weight is "huge".

it might not sound much on paper
but when you hold it, you can definetely feel the difference
if you like oversaturated colours go with the phat
if you enjoy long play sessions and confort go with the slim
also, if by any chance you break your screen, it will be easier to find a replacement for the slim
because the phat model is no longer in production

No, your just further proving that you can afford it.. You obviously have money to waste.

What? You're not making any sense. I could have afforded it previously but not any more. It's like saying that someone who spent $900 out of their $1000 pay check has money because he was able to spend that $900.

Yes. It's exactly like that. Wait a week and buy a memory card. You are making it clear you have a very disposable income. An 8gb is only like 20$..

1000 is the better model- it's sturdy and feels like quality

2000 feels very flimsy the plastic is cheap and the screen is a obvious downgrade really the only thing better about 2000 is the slightly better battery and the placement/design of the start select buttons.
