Hacking Question regarding getting an English translated cia working

Greetings, I recently put cfw on my 3DS following the 3DS hack.guide. However when I found an English pre-patched cia version of terry’s wonderland 3D (originally a Japanese dragon quest remake), and installed it using fbi, I started the game and it promptly crashed giving me the stack dump screen. Other cia’s work fine which I’ve tested with Pokémon sun USA version for example. Is there a special means of playing an English patched version of 3DS title that I’m
missing? Also I read on the website which I downloaded from that I should use deep blue menu to install it but why? Isn’t fbi superior in that aspect already?
