Hacking question regarding flashing and voiding warranty

im planning on buying a dslite hopefully tomorrow when i go to a big city or atleast one with a ebgames or walmart
but even if i get my lite and then go and order a passcard and a m3 with a sd card it wont be here for a few days and by that time il be home and not somewhere with a ebgames or walmart
my question is which is better for returns in canada ebgames or walmart? i wont go back to a bigger city for a month or so
how could they tell if i bricked my lite is it obvious to a retailer?
