Hacking [question] my sd card just wiped it self, what do i do?

so today I turned on my 2ds, and it gave me an error message of "the sd card could not be read", it had happened before and I've managed to fix it just by taking the sd out and back in, this time it didn't work, so, after 4 or 5 tries I go to my pc, plug the sd in, and it tells me to format it so that it can be read, i suppose it got corrupted somehow so i go into my sd recovery program and even there its empty, clean. I didn't crack my 2ds myself, I sent it to get cracked, so my assumption is that the guy that cracked it put a timebomb or something to wipe the sd, I don't really know much about 3ds hacking so it's just an idea I have. right now I'm not really worried about if I can recover the files, but mostly if I have to re-crack the 2ds or just re-download all the files. does anyone know what I have to do, or how to know which case it is?

Buy a new SD card from a brick and mortar store. If you can't do that and must buy online, test your new card with H2testw first: https://3ds.guide/h2testw-(windows) and only use it if the test shows no errors. If it has any errors return it for a refund and buy one from somewhere else. When buying from ebay or Amazon third party sellers or online only retailers this will be very likely.

Then just add boot.firm from the latest Luma: https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases as well as boot.3dsx from the homebrew launcher: https://github.com/fincs/new-hbmenu/releases and follow https://3ds.guide/finalizing-setup to get all your homebrew back up and running.

The seller can't have set any timebomb, you just used a dodgy SD card.

thanks, but, cant I just format the sd, and like convert it in a format that the 3ds can read? I know that windows and 3ds use different formats, or something similar

The SD is going bad. You might be able to format it and get it working temporarily, but it is going to have problems again and wipe all your data. You want to be throwing it in the bin.

An 8GB card is fine to use if you need something cheap, you just won't be able to store more than a couple of games at a time. You should be able to get one for $5 or less at a brick and mortar store.
