[question] is there any dowside to having a wep connection instead of a wpa2?

    ive being thinking of changing my wifi setting to wep, is there cons on doing this?

    It's much less secure to use WEP. WEP can be easily cracked by trivially-acquired software. Why are you thinking of switching? What benefit is there?

    Given that this is in the NDS section i assume its so he can use the wifi on his NDS? NDS didn't have WPA2 compatibility did it?

    mostly to use the nintendo wfc on ds without having to use my mobile data

    Most routers will allow you to set a secondary network, such as a "guest network" that is either unsecured or hidden. See if your router has that and if it does you can enable/disable it at will.

    However, aren't most Nintendo WFC things dead?

    oh, thats actually a good idea. and yeah kinda but there are a few with 500 active users.
