I might do it if I have free time this afternoon. No promises.

I don´t have a Gateway right now, but I already did this in the past. So, if you want to try by yourself, here what I did.

    - Install SaveDataFiler.cia
    - Rename the save you want to backup to 000400000FF40A00.sav (you will need to do it for each save that you want to backup).
    - Load the game you want to backup (press the select button and select the game. You don´t need to enter the game... you just need to see the gamelogo in the cartridge slot).
    - Open SaveDataFiler and backup 000400000FF40A00.sav.

Now you have a backup that is compatible with the cia format. It will create a new folder called "UserSaveData" with folders inside (one for each game that you saved). Its a tedious process once you need to rename each save that you wanted to export, but its worked for me in the past.

I have read this process but I was never able to understand it. I don't need to backup a save, I just need to convert a getaway one to be used with a cia. Rename what save that I want to backup?
Still, thank yoi for your advice but the process really confuses me.

Well, once you have the backup, you just need to restore it to work with cia format.
There is another app called JKSM. Its have a better interface, but at least for my experience, its not work with gateway. This is good only with you have a original game cartridge or cia games.

Just a brief explanation. Gateway will save each game in the root of the SD card. Something like XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.sav, where the Xs are the code of the game. But only gateway use this method, so its not compatible with CIAs, for example.

But, for SaveDataFiler, 000400000FF40A00 is the code (and always will be) of the cartridge. For example, if you put a original cartridge in the slot, SaveDataFiler will see this code as the save that is inside the cartridge.

Once you rename a save to 000400000FF40A00, you will be tricking SaveDataFiler saying that this is a save from the card, and than, you will be able to backup as a format that it could restore as a default format.

I have looked elsewhere and it says that I do need a card in order to convert the save, and unfortunatly I don't.

@D_AVV Yes and you need it also in this case, so you either need to provide the header of the Luigi's Mansion game to the ones you want the save extracted from (Which is prohibited on this forum as the header is copyrighted material) or you do it yourself.
The easiest way to get the extracted save is with NTR CFW with the savedata plugin.
However, it is so unstable nowadays, that you can only launch one programm after starting the NTR CFW so it's a bit annoying for many games, but if it's only one it should be alright.
If you will never have access to the game and header where you got the save from you're sool because of the encryption of the save involving the header.
A friend of mine saved his pokemon save via my power saves and got his game stolen.
And we never could get the extracted save from it and he nearly had all of the pokemon when X was the latest one.

I think I will use the decrypted one present on this forum. I've only just noticed now. Sorry everyone for the hassle, I think it can be closed.

Thank you, but I was actually looking for a more complete save. I only really need it to play the last few levels and the one on this forum is not available anymore. Still, yours was useful for a test with the file manager so thank you anyway. :)

I'm not sure how useful it is but here's my savefile, it has all the single player levels/missing a number of gems/never done anything online.
