So after seeing a few post on here about low frame rates or terrible graphic, I'm really curious what the deal is with BOTW. If it really is not so great with the Wii U version, or it could possibly be a method in which others have installed the game onto their Wii U which may have caused problems somewhere. Only the EUR version is out from what I'm aware. Is there going to be problems for us getting the Wii U version in America? Or again is this some mishap with installing it prematurely?

It's definitely the way that the game is played. Playing the game via loadiine has long loading times on the regular loading screens, and randomly loading whenever it needs to more data for areas. the game still looks extremely good, and the art style is really good at hiding any possible graphical blemishes, and (at least on loadiine) it has a constant fps. However, certain weather effects will make this stable fps drop, but it becomes hard to notice after you get used to it. Lastly, going back to loading screens, it seems that the game has hidden loading screens for large cut scenes.

It's all talked about in the low-res thread. But here's a summary:
    1. Are framedrops/"bad graphics" happening because of the hardware/method people use? No. As all other games installed using the hax methods, the games act exactly like they would if they were installed from official eShop or disc.
    2. Can it be that Nintendo plan to put out an update that fixes this before launch or shortly thereafter? Maybe- We don't know.
    3. Will there be problems getting the Wii U verison in america? We don't know, but probably not. This is my guess based on how available Twilight Princess for Gamecube was [in europe] at the time that released. It was pressed in few quantities and I believe it had only 1 press run, so it became hard to find quickly. But we really don't know with the Wii U release of BotW.

When it comes to comparing the Switch and Wii U version I don't know. I haven't looked too much at the Switch verison, but there is a slight chance it runs smoother and looks a bit nicer than the Wii U version. But someone else here might have a comparison video or personal experience to share on this subject.

Edit: Seeing Garblant's post I realize that I might be missing something. Does the game run worse on USA consoles than PAL consoles?
I play on a PAL console with the game USB_Transfer installed (WUD or whatever). It basically only loads when I first start the game [obviously], fast travel or enter/exit shrines. Are you saying people are getting loading screens elsewhere?

So if I were to get this (US version) directly from the USB helper and install it through Mocha Homebrew methods would it work like it should?

You wouldn't encounter all of the loading screens that I did, but the fps should be stable.

(Note:this is not accounting for large explosions)

I was mainly worried it was gonna look terrible based on the above mentioned thread.

It really isn't as bad as people say it is. I mean frame drops? haven't you played a Zelda game in the last 30 years? almost all of them have them, and for every bad rock texture there is there's like 1000 things that look pretty amazing like the high amout of grass covering the open fields, the blood moon, the variety of animals there are.

Why wouldn't he find so many load screens?

Yeah, it's gorgeous looking game and I think people are only talking negatively about the wii u version because they don't want people to get it... (imo)

He wouldn't have the loading screens that cause the entire world to pause for a 20 - 60 seconds. Also, I was playing the game off of my sd card, so the loading times were a lot longer.

Yeah because the Switch is like this magical console that can magically run games 10x better, and if you dare to even think anything negative about the switch prepare to get clubbed.

I preordered the switch version, but if something isn't right with the game I'm not going to just not mention it. Both versions of the game will have their own "flaws", but if Nintendo learns about these "flaws" then they can attempt to fix it in an update.

I don't know.. In Kakariko Village, frame rate is about 10 at times.. pretty bad. I wonder how much better it is with Switch?

I haven't encountered that before, how hard was it raining?

Also, the game supposedly plays better in its undocked modes...

Yup. I've noticed when you enter Kakariko Village (any weather) and when you run out of your "spawn" (the cave the game starts in), the framrate consistently drops there as well.
