Hacking Question about updating my 360

I have an old Xbox 360 with dash 9199, and for now I would just like to update it so I can stream Netflix on it. My question is, if I do update it, will I still be able to mod it in the future?

You will still be able to mod it, but you won't be able to use the RGH 1 exploit, which is preferred by many people - as it is very reliable with great boot times. If I was you I'd purchase a streaming stick (such as the chromecast, fire tv, etc) as you could probably get one for about $20, or if you have a smart TV use that. Or, connect a HDMI cable from a laptop to your TV. So only if it is absolutely necessary, would I update. But, it's up to you my friend.
