idk where to start looking. but how do i convert august 27 8pm est to gmt+8?
i managed to find 8pm est would be 9am for me.
but which day? still august 27?
but if it's already pm in that time. and afaik, we're ahead in terms of dates. so am i right if i think it'll be august 28 9am for me?

EST is GMT -5, so it'd be +13 hours. 9 AM on the 28th.

In future, if in doubt and have no access to conversion sites, just convert twice:

Convert from EST to GMT(which I believe is going backwards?) then add on 8 hours for GMT + 8
