Question About The Mario Bros.

So something has been driving me crazy lately. I got the DVD's containing all the episodes of the old Super Mario Bros cartoon that aired around the time of the NES games. So I've been currently watching the Super Mario Bros Super Show where it's said that Mario and Luigi are two plumbers from Brooklyn New York running a business called Mario Bros Plumbing.

What really is driving my curiosity crazy is me wondering if at any point in time there really WAS a plumbing service in Brooklyn New York called Mario Bros Plumbing. I could see it now. It would just be like two middle aged Italian men cosplaying as Mario and Luigi while they're on the job. I mean Mario is kind of a huge thing. Everyone knows who Mario is. It would be a huge cash in and nod to the gaming world.

I'm legitimately dying to know if at some point this was real or just an invention of the show. Anyone know the truth cause I really want to know.
