Hacking Question about the m3 lite

Ive had an r4 and a m3lite for about a year and a half now, and while I mainly used the m3 lite for extra space for my gba games, I do play some ds games on it. That said, I was wondering a couple of things.

Ive looked around and couldnt find info about firmware for it. Is it still supported? Also, will it play more recent games, like the new Professor Layton and Mario and Luigi?
